He was great with the details, like ensuring that there were electrical outlets where we wanted them and even where we did not know we wanted them and suggesting adding a house vacuum outlet in the addition and a grocery pass through into the new pantry (old kitchen) from the garage. When our 24-year old custom built home needed an outside facelift, based on a recommendation from close friends, we engaged Ken Overstreet to oversee the restoration. Ken was excellent, from window replacement and stucco resurfacing to slate tile repair and copper accents to exposed cedar rafter tails, he brought our home back to it’s original luster and in some respects using better materials and techniques, improved it’s long term durability. Last year we bought a 20-year-old house that needed both interior and exterior restoration along with a few critical upgrades, so we hired Ken again to oversee the project. In four short months Ken transformed our purchase into the home we saw possible when we first walked through the property. Ken brings so many skills and talents to bear on your project. His architectural training combined with his building knowledge and experience and his skill as a craftsman combine to give you everything you need to ensure architectural integrity combined with construction durability and cost effectiveness. There are no cost surprises with Ken, and he stays on schedule and on budget. His subcontractors are solid, and he stays on top of them and the schedule. His standards are extremely high and he often asks his subcontractors to address small imperfections. In addition, Ken is unflappable and will have options to address whatever large or small surprise erupts during your project. Over 40 + years building two homes and revising four others he’s the best we’ve come across. He gets 5 gold stars in our experience.

I have worked with Ken on 2 projects and have gotten to know him over the past 5 years.  He first built out a home gym for us.  He was great to work with: very detail oriented, thoughtful and professional.  He completed the project ahead of schedule and brought us in under the original budget. 

We have become friends over this time and I have toured a couple of his custom homes, always leaving them extremely impressed.

My wife and I hired Ken to design and build a major home addition & remodeling update a few years ago.  Ken and crew did a fantastic job of coming up with a plan that worked seamlessly with our existing house and then executed the build plan perfectly!  Ken also designed (and built) a custom built-in grill that was beautiful!  I would definitely hire Ken again!
